Cold Weather, Giant Bass on shiners

39 degrees in Okeechobee this morning, the water is still warm however, which didn't stop this big Bass from eating a live wild shiner. Final day of 2016, and it looks like 2017 is going to be a great year for catching Big Bass! The Lake Okeechobee Fishery is in incredible shape right now, the massive lake is churning out large numbers of bass, plus big bass every single day!

12/28/2016 Big Bass bite continues! Lake Okeechobee Fishing Reports

Mark Hudson and his son Joshua visited Lake Okeechobee for the second time this year and Mark caught this Okeechobee Trophy Bass on a giant wild shiner! The heavy cover you see behind him is where these big old bass like to hold during pre-spawn, it requires heavy braided line, a lot of patience and a little luck to land a bass this size. Our years of experience on Lake Okeechobee has helped us guide our customers to so many of these giant bass that we have lost count. We are not done yet, come visit!

12-18-2016 Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report

Late December and early January are traditionally the time of year when often the single largest bass of the year is caught. I am talking about fish in the 10 to 12plus pound range, and these fish always fall prey to a live wild shiner. Lake Okeechobee has always been the premier bass fishing lake in the US and still is, there are many great fishing spots in this country but none can match the output of bass days after day that Okeechobee provide. It's cold up North, where would you rather be? if your a fisherman your answer is probably in Florida sitting on Lake Okeechobee fishing for the biggest Bass of your lifetime. Lake Okeechobee is known for great speckled perch (crappie) fishing as well. We are catching 25 fish limits of these most tasty panfish daily. We normally fish with small jigs made locally be a friend of ours that is known to be irresistible to large specks. If you want to schedule a panfish trip give a call and we can either bass fish or speck fish, you make the call.

'Charles Rosens partner Cpt Jim had to return home lasty night so Charles had to catch all of the fish himself today. He had one of the best fishing days imaginable. He caught a 7 pound 2 oz bass, a 9 pound 1 oz bass, and a 10 pound bass. The 2 fish he is holding in the picture are the 9lb 1oz and the 10, he caught them on consecutive casts. What an incredible fishing day! Lake Okeechobee 12-18-11'

Okeechobee Fishing Report 12-17-2016

Brian from Virginia visits Florida for the Winter and fishes with us 8 to 12 times a season, as you see he started his 2016 season off with a Big Bass caught on a wild shiner. He still has 4 more months with us to catch one bigger, don't bet against it! Lake Okeechobee is producing large numbers of bass every trip that is taken, with big Bass being caught at a rate not seen for quite a few years. Live wild shiners are the way to go if you are interested in catching the single biggest fish of your lifetime, not to mention the most bass in a morning of your life as well! We live in Okeechobee and our experience level and track record on the lake is unsurpassed. Our customers continue to call us to fish the Big "O" year after year, one because we have fun when we fish, and two we produce more big bass than any other guide on this lake, that's a combination that is hard to compete with.

thanks, Cpt Shellen
