Spawning Bass on Lake Okeechobee

Today I fished with 2 gentlemen from Rochester Indiana, both were skilled fishermen, who spend a lot of time on the water. Our first move from the ramp was to Nubbin Slough where the water has been flowing for 3 weeks and the fishing has been outstanding, we spent an hour and a half there trying to coax a bite out of the fish we could see on the sonar graph. We never caught a fish there so we moved to another moving water site where the results were more of the same, lots of junk fish, gar, pickerel & such but again no bass. It was at this point we decided to go out into the lake. For the next two hours we caught fish after fish. Our total for the 1/2 day trip was 37 bass, the largest being a 7lb 30z female swollen with roe. We had 7 fish over 4 lbs today which is rather incredible in itself. All in all it was a great day on the Big "O" . Nearly
all of the female bass we caught today were fat with eggs and ready to spawn.
