Big Bass in the Fall! (9 Pounds)

October 19, 2007

I fished with Mike and Ginger today, Ginger is from Delray Beach and Mike is from Louisiana. Lake Okeechobee is starting to produce some big Bass! ginger caught a long skinny 7 pound fish on the first cast of the day, It was Mike's birthday today and he caught the biggest bass of his life a fat 8 1/2 pound female that fought like crazy. We caught all of our fish on shiners (19) and had a great day on Lake Okeechobee!

I fished with Scott Haas from Delaware today, we went to the Stick Marsh and fished artificial baits. We caught 21 bass and most of them were the same size as the one Scott is holding in the picture, we had a lot of fun today, it's fun to fish with good fishermen like Scott!

I have been talking about the first wave of big pre- spawn females that move in at this time every year and today we caught the first one of the fall! I fished with Eric Rubin and Irving Leibowitz from Brookklyn NY today we caught 27 bass. This big 9 pound female ate the last shiner we had, and Lee did a great job landing her! We caught about equal numbers of fish on shiners and artificial baits. This big bass is just the tip of the iceberg many others will follow her, and we are going to be there to catch them!
